FONDI KRISTIAN I FËMIJËVE SHQIPËRI, (CCF ALBANIA)
Fondi Kristian i Fëmijëve Shqipëri, (CCF Albanija) began its operation in Albania in 1995. As one of the first non-governmental organisations in Albania focusing on children, CCF Albania has been creating development oriented projects for children, families and communities to enhance the overall welfare and development of children from birth to adulthood. CCF Albania is best known for its comprehensive early childhood development program that resulted in community-based child-care centres in Tirana suburbs and in north-eastern Albania. Alongside this, CCF Albania has implemented projects dedicated to raising the profile and promoting children’s rights.
Two joint projects with Children’s Care Fund make a substantial part of CCF Albania’s activities in the last two years.
NIPPA - THE EARLY YEARS ORGANISATION
NIPPA - the Early Years Organisation is the largest early years organisation in Northern Ireland. NIPPA is a non-profit making organisation and has been working since 1965 to promote high quality childcare for children aged 0-14 and their families.
Currently NIPPA provides information and training for parents, childcare providers, employers and local authorities. NIPPA has a team of locally based Early Years Advisors / Specialists and Development Workers who provide ongoing support and advice to playgroups, day care centres, creches parent and toddler groups and after school groups on an individual, group or peer network basis. These staff assist providers in planning, implementing and managing all aspects of high quality service provision in Early Years Care and Education.
NIPPA currently operates a successful accreditation scheme for playgroups, whereby service providers can have external verification on the high quality nature of their provision. The advisers/specialists assist groups through the accreditation process, which examines all aspects of service provision through the application of the benchmark standards gathered into 14 key aspects of Early Years Care and Education. The accreditation process is a rigorous examination of the quality of service provision, and has led to significant developments in the quality of provision across the region. NIPPA has devised a range of short courses and workshops which are mainly aimed at helping early years workers who wish to develop their practice. Many of their courses are accredited or endorsed with a recognised awarding body i.e.: CACHE or the Institute of Leadership and Management, and in some cases have linkages with academic institutes such as Queen’s University Belfast.
